Advantage Emblem Uses Laser to Innovate Clothing Styles

Grandma’s Marathon’s official merchandiser is creating new styles with a state of the art fabric laser.

Advantage Emblem & Screen Printing invested in a Seit Laser Bridge ST4 fabric laser earlier this year.  According to Advantage Emblem owner Nathan Bentley, “The Laser Bridge lets us create more intricate and innovative clothing designs than our competitors can make.”  One of only 22 such devices in the country when it went on-line this spring, the Laser Bridge is part of a 12,000 square foot expansion at Advantage Emblem.

“We consistently reinvest in our company by purchasing state of the art equipment and providing ongoing training for our staff. Doing this drives costs down and we pass savings on to our customers,” says Bentley. “Our business is growing so the company had to grow, too.  The expansion increased our building’s size by 33%.  We also expanded our embroidery and banner departments, and redesigned our shipping and receiving areas.  Advantage Emblem is a strong, innovative company that is adding employees and technology.  We are ready to take on any project, no matter how big or small it is.”

The growth helped Advantage Emblem screen print over 17,000 finisher shirts for the marathon, half marathon and 5K.  All 6,000 volunteers wear T-shirts produced by Advantage Emblem as well as 4,000 promotional shirts worn by local hotel employees.  Finally, the thousands of lapel pins given to volunteers are made by Advantage Emblem.

“In my years as director of Grandma's Marathon, I have never experienced the caliber of customer service that Nathan and his team provide,” says Scott Keenan, executive director of Grandma's Marathon.  “The crew at Advantage Emblem goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure every item they produce for us is of the highest quality. It’s clear that their top priority is making sure their customers are 100% satisfied,” adds Keenan.

Visitors to the merchandise areas in Canal Park and the Expo can purchase the laser created designs and many other styles during race weekend.  You can also shop at this year’s on-line store at www.advantageemblem.com by clicking on the Race Merchandise button.  “We launched the online store two years ago and are excited to provide race enthusiasts with Grandma's Marathon gear throughout the year,” says Bentley.

According to Bentley, the response from runners and race fans has been tremendous. “We started sponsoring the races in 2002.  Being the official merchandiser has been a great experience. It increases our commitment to what Scott and his staff are doing.  We look forward to unveiling our 2013 line featuring fresh new designs and styles that reflect the latest trends in clothing for men and women.” says Bentley.
