Wherley Moving Systems Transports Your Gear on Race Day

Wherley Moving Systems began as a local dray and delivery company based out of St. Cloud, Minn., in 1898. Since then, the company has evolved into a nationwide moving service and agent of United Van Lines, the largest moving company in the nation. Today, Wherley offers a number of services to their clients including household and commercial moving, storage facilities, tradeshow, portable storage containers, electronic equipment moving and online shipment tracking.  “Wherley’s primary goal is to provide first-class service and overall satisfaction by making the often stressful transition of moving the most positive experience possible,” Adam Landwehr said, general manager of Wherley Moving Systems.

The company’s staff of over 100 professionals not only carefully load the moving vans, but they also help pack belongings and set up furniture at the customer’s new location.  Their dedication to providing great service exceeds the industry standard which is evident by the many awards the company has earned for excellent performance and hard work

This year is Wherley’s eighth as an official sponsor of Grandma’s Marathon, and they again contributed in a very big way. During the race, Wherley was in charge of transporting the bags and belongings of thousands of Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon and Grandma’s Marathon participants to the finish line.  In addition, Wherley helped transport and deliver equipment to aid stations along the course from start to finish.  In order to accomplish these tasks, the company uses eight trucks and eight drivers making everything run efficiently. “It is our goal to make sure that we perform our duties in a timely and effective manner so the entire race runs smoothly,” Landwehr said.

“Our organization is very excited to have Wherley Moving Systems on our sponsorship team,” Jon Carlson said, executive director of Grandma’s Marathon.  “They are a tremendous help in making the race run as efficiently as possible.  We are really looking forward to working with them again this year.”

With so many runners, Wherley certainly has its work cut out for them.  They are however, fully equipped and ready.  Landwehr said that along with their excitement to help out during the race, “Wherley is anticipating the great community event that brings so many diverse cultures together for one very special weekend here in Duluth.”
