Pro Print is proud to be the official printer and a major sponsor of Grandma’s Marathon. We are very proud to be associated with such an outstanding organization and a world class event. We love the excitement and energy this race brings to Duluth.
Pro Print’s success has always been due first and foremost to their employees - great people who are “pros” at what they do. Additionally, in order to maintain their high quality and continued efficiency, Pro Print has always invested in new, technologically advanced equipment, along with a larger and more spacious facility that allows production to be completed more efficiently.
Asked about how their newest press has performed over the last year, owners Scott Cooke and Creston Dorothy responded by saying, “This press is so automated and so fast, it has exceeded our expectations. Our commitment to highly automated and productive equipment, an energy efficient plant and outstanding people is paying off for our customers and for us. We can make-ready our new press in ¼ the time of our competitors and run at speeds up to 50% faster, allowing us to efficiently produce almost any job.” “This helps our customers’ advertising budgets go further and helps speed turnaround times.”
Founded in 1977, Pro Print has a staff of over 38 people and serves more than 700 customers in Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, as well as many from coast to coast. Recently, Pro Print was also recognized with their 3rd Inc. 5000 award as one of the fastest growing private companies in America. Since moving to Duluth’s Airpark in 2007, Pro Print has become the largest printer in the Twin Ports area.
The company’s new production plant is a state-of-the-art 26,000-square-foot facility in the Duluth Airpark. Adjacent to the Duluth International Airport, the Airpark is a modern, light manufacturing industrial park that includes nearly 40 tenants. This plant was designed with input from local utility companies for maximum energy efficiency. Along with the company-wide recycling program, soy based inks and commitment to sustainability, Pro Print continues to be an environmentally conscientious business. Pro Print has additional room in the same location to continue expanding over the next few years.
With a new facility, the most advanced equipment in Duluth, and more expansion plans for the future, Pro Print has continued its growth and provides the area with good-paying jobs and high-quality printing services. “We are the definition of a full service printer. We offer one-stop shopping and help you fulfill virtually any print need you may have,” explains Cooke.
The staff and board of Grandma's Marathon can attest to this. As the official printer of Grandma's Marathon, Pro Print is in charge of all of the organization’s printing needs including newsletters, promotional posters, results magazines, tickets for weekend events and much more. “Having a premier printer like Pro Print on our sponsorship team is a crucial part of our success. We are extremely proud to have them as a partner,” says Scott Keenan, executive director of Grandma's Marathon.
In addition to supporting Grandma's Marathon and many local businesses, Pro Print also regularly assists local volunteer fire departments, the local food bank, hospitals, colleges and high schools, clinics, non-profits, and other charitable organizations through the printing and design services that they offer. This year, Pro Print was also the proud sponsor of the ALS Walleye Fishing Tournament and the Black Woods ALS Blizzard Tour, a snowmobile ride that raises money for the cure of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
“We are committed to helping our community grow and we believe that being a part of such a premier event and something as special as Grandma’s Marathon is one of the most enjoyable ways to achieve that goal,” says Dorothy.
