Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon | Post-Race Information

T-SHIRTS, MEDALLIONS & REFRESHMENT TICKETS: T-shirts, medallions and refreshment tickets for finishers are located at the end of the finish line chutes. Refreshment tickets can be redeemed in the Finish Line Activity Area (Big Top Tent). Note: After 8 p.m. a cover charge will be collected at the entrance to the Activity Area and admittance will be for those age 21 and older.


INFORMATION CENTER/LOST & FOUND: The Information Center is located next to the Medical Tent in the runners’ recovery and activity area. All recovered lost and found articles will be brought here.


MEETING AREA: With thousands of people in the Canal Park area during and after the race, it is easy for groups to become separated. We have set up a meeting area to help reunite people. The runners’ Meeting Area is in the grassy area near the Marine Museum.

The signs are labeled as follows: AB, CD, EF, GH, IJ, KL, MN, OP, QRS, TUV, and WXYZ. If you do not use this system, please make arrangements on where to meet with your family or friends. NOTE: The finish line announcers will not page people.


SHOWERS & MASSAGES: Showers will be available on race day. (Locations will be listed in your runners information packet at packet pick-up.)

Massages are available for half marathon participants in the post-event massage tent adjacent to the recovery area.


AWARDS CEREMONY: The Awards Ceremony is Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC)in the Lake Superior Ballroom (entrance B). Awards will be presented according to the following schedule:

4:00 p.m. - Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon Awards
4:45 p.m. - Grandma's Marathon Awards

Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon awards are given in the following categories:

NOTE: Awards for the age group 19-34 are included in the Open category.

Per USATF recommendations, awards for the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon age divisions will be given based on the following timing guidelines:

  • Open, 12-18, 35-39: Awards given based on Gun Time
  • Age Divisions 40 and up: Awards given based on Chip Time

 


 

RACE RESULTS: Race results will be posted on our web site as the races are in progress. Race result postcards are mailed to all finishers of the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon within two weeks. Race result magazines are mailed in the fall.
