Wells Fargo Keeps on Course with Support for Grandma’s Marathon
An important part of the popularity of Grandma’s Marathon is the many runners who return year after year to participate in the race fittingly known as “Duluth’s favorite event.” As Minnesota’s leading financial services provider, Wells Fargo has enjoyed returning as a part of the tradition for 28 consecutive years and supporting the marathon’s growth over the years. Once again, Wells Fargo is a presenting sponsor for this world-class marathon with small-town charm that has become one of Minnesota’s most anticipated events each year.
“At Wells Fargo, we take pride in contributing to Grandma’s Marathon – it brings together our community and showcases Duluth at its best,” said Stephanie Cummings, Community Banking district manager for Wells Fargo in Duluth. “Our team members enjoy volunteering at the event each year and supporting the marathon’s continued success.”
More than 200 Wells Fargo volunteers join hundreds of fellow Twin Ports residents in planning Grandma’s Marathon activities, hydrating runners, awarding finish-line medallions and much more.
“When you think of Duluth, you think of Grandma’s Marathon,” said Scott Bradt, Wells Fargo Northern Minnesota Business Banking president. “This event has become more than a one-day race – it represents our community. We know Wells Fargo’s support helps Duluth stage an event that showcases our city as a great place to live, visit, and build and grow a business.”
For thousands of Grandma’s Marathon runners the goal is to finish. Most run to reach a personal best and cross the finish line at Canal Park with a deep sense of fulfillment. That type of commitment is one reason Wells Fargo has such a strong connection with the event.
“When runners enter Grandma’s Marathon, they start with a goal, create a plan and commit to weeks of training before stepping across the starting line,” said Cummings. “At Wells Fargo, we approach our work and our relationships with our customers the same way. Every day, we’re looking for ways to strengthen our relationships with customers and help them succeed financially. We want to understand our customers’ financial goals and provide the resources and expertise to help them reach those goals.”
