We plan on hosting a chip-timed, in-person Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon on Saturday, June 19, 2021.
NOTE: The in-person field for the 2021 Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon is full. Please consider either joining one of our Charity Partners or participating virtually.
In order to do so as safely as possible and in accordance with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) guidelines, we will most likely be using a rolling start format and creating a “grab-and-go” finish line area.
This will change the pre- and post-race procedures for our participants. We appreciate your patience as these COVID-modified plans are developed and move through the approval processs.
As plans become finalized, we will be communicating with our registered participants and volunteers as well as the general public.
NOTE: If you are registered to participate in-person, you must plan on following all our announced and in-place safety measures before, during, and after the event.
We are also offering participants a virtual option to complete the 2021 Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon, meaning you may complete your race at a time and location of your choice between June 19 and July 5.
The non-refundable entry fee for the virtual Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon is $100, and you must register before June 1, 2021. Details for reporting your time will be emailed by June 15.
Virtual finishers will receive a Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon finisher shirt and finisher medal. You may select at the time of registration to pick up your items or have them mailed to you. We expect to start the shipping process in late summer.
The status of the 2021 Grandma’s Marathon weekend is subject to change at any time.
We realize that the COVID-19 pandemic is a dynamic situation, and we will continue to monitor all updates from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). If the status of the event changes, we will notify participants via email as soon as possible.
