Start Line Information
The 2022 Minnesota Mile start schedule is still to be determined. The 2021 schedule is available for reference:
Sponsor Relay (invitation only) – 5:50pm
Recreational Heat – 6:00pm
Recommended for recreational runners, families, walkers, and strollers
Masters Competitive Heat – 6:20pm
Competitive runners ages 40 & over
Women’s Competitive Heat – 6:30pm
Competitive women ages 39 & under; recommended for 7:00/mile pace and faster
Men’s Competitive Heat – 6:40pm
Competitive men ages 39 & under; recommended for 6:00/mile pace and faster
The 2022 Minnesota Mile course starts and finishes near Enger Tower and Enger Park Golf Course in Duluth.
The course travels along Skyline Parkway around Enger Tower, offering picturesque and elevated views of Duluth’s Aerial Lift Bridge and Lake Superior. The course continues past Twin Ponds and alongside Enger Park Golf Course before arriving at the finish line.
Parking & Shuttles
Free parking for the event will be available in the Enger Park Golf Course parking lot.
Enger Park Golf Course

A free shuttle will be provided by Voyageur Bus Company for participants and their families on race day between Lake Superior College and Enger Park Golf Course.
The shuttle will pick up at Lake Superior College’s motorcyle training parking lot, which is to the left as you enter campus from US Highway 53/Trinity Road.
The shuttle will run continuously between the two locations starting at 4:00pm, and the final return shuttle will depart Enger Park Golf Course at 7:45pm.
West Skyline Parkway (between Twin Ponds and Enger Park Golf Course) and Hank Jensen Drive will be closed to traffic at 5:15pm on the night of the event.
Hank Jensen Drive will reopen to eastbound traffic only at approximately 7:00pm, and all roads will be reopen to all traffic at approximately 7:30pm.
The Duluth Police Department will be assisting us the night of the race to direct traffic and to ensure the safety of our participants and all other motorists and pedestrians.
No pets, motor vehicles, bicycles, handcycles, hand-cranked wheelchairs, roller skis, inline skates, or unregistered participants are allowed on the racecourse.
Baby joggers and strollers are allowed at YAF events but must start in the back of the corral.
Pushrim wheelchair competitors, duo teams, and other adaptive athletes are encouraged to participate but must follow all Wheelchair & Adaptive Program Guidance. Adaptive athletes are asked to contact Grandma’s Marathon prior to registering so that we can provide all reasonable accommodations.
Prizes will be presented to the top three men and women in our competitive and masters heats, as well as our age division winners following the race.
NOTE: Anyone who wins a top three prize in the competitive or masters heats will not be eligible for an age division award.
YAF sponsors Duluth Running Company, Austin Jarrow, and Tortoise & Hare Footwear have all provided gift cards that will be presented to our award winners.
Prizes will be available for pickup at the Enger Park Golf Course pavilion starting at approximately 7:00pm.
