YAF Running Shoe Program

The YAF Running Shoe Program began in 1991 with the goal of providing money to help varsity runners at high schools throughout Carlton, Cook, Douglas, Lake, and St. Louis Counties.

The program provides high school cross country and track and field programs with certificates for free running shoes that the head coaches can then distribute to their athletes in need.

Since 1991, the YAF has donated over 4,500 pairs of running shoes to area athletes through this program.

If you’re an area coach or would like your high school program to be involved, please contact our Office Manager Kellie Luedloff at (218) 727-0947 or via email at Kellie@grandmasmarathon.com.

The mission of the Young Athletes Foundation (YAF) is to support and build community by providing pathways of opportunity to youth through athletic programs and encouraging healthy lifestyles.

Proceeds from the KP Challenge, St. Fennessy 4K, Fitger’s 5K, Park Point 5-Miler, Minnesota Mile, and North End Nightmare 5K go to benefit the YAF’s charitable programs.
