Saturday Morning at the Races

Our Saturday Morning at the Races series is FREE and open to all kids ages 14 & under. It’s the perfect way to help your kids stay active during the cold, winter months!

Pre-registration is encouraged and can be completed using the link below. On-site registration will be available for each event starting at 9:00 a.m., and the races will start at 10:00 a.m.

Each participant will receive a free T-shirt, each branded in coordination with our three local college partners.

Participants will be separted by staff and volunteers into different heats, dependent on the event’s size. Race distance will increase with age, and parents are invited to accompany their child during his or her race.

COVID-19 Protocols

All three of our college partners (the University of Minnesota Duluth, University of Wisconsin Superior, and the College of St Scholastica) have indoor mask mandates. With this in mind and with an emphasis on community safety, all event attendees will be REQUIRED to wear masks while attending a Saturday Morning at the Races event. We ask that you bring your own mask to the event but masks will be available for those who do not have them.

*Masks are required to be worn by race participants during their race and while warming up.
**Children under 2 years old are not required to wear a mask.

The mission of the Young Athletes Foundation (YAF) is to support and build community by providing pathways of opportunity to youth through athletic programs and encouraging healthy lifestyles.

Proceeds from the KP Challenge, St. Fennessy 4K, Fitger’s 5K, Park Point 5-Miler, Minnesota Mile, and North End Nightmare 5K go to benefit the YAF’s charitable programs.
