Finish Line

The finish line for Grandma’s Marathon and the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon is located in the heart of Duluth’s Canal Park, just steps away from the original Grandma’s Restaurant and the iconic Aerial Lift Bridge.
After finishing, participants will enter the runner recovery area where they will receive their finisher medal and T-shirt as well as post-race fuel and recovery items.
From the finish and runner recovery area, it is approximately a 1/2-mile walk to Bayfront Festival Park for more post-race activities.

Spectators are encouraged to enjoy the viewing experience at the Grandma’s Marathon finish line, though it's advised to arrive early in the day as space and good viewing angles are limited.
There will also be limited space in the free finish line bleacher area, which is first-come, first-served. If you're interested in purchasing reserved space in the finish line bleachers, please call our office at

The Grandma's Marathon Information Center is located next to the Medical Tent in the runner recovery area at the finish line. All items recovered by staff or volunteers on race weekend will be brought to a lost and found at this location to be claimed by their owner.
A designated meeting area for those that are separated from their group will be set up at Bayfront Festival Park, near the Great Lakes Aquarium. There will be signs with the following labels to help you locate the other members of your group: AB, CD, EF, GH, IJ, KL, MN, OP, QRS, TUV, and WXYZ.
If you are participating in one of the races and are planning to meet someone at the finish line, it's advised that you make arrangements with them ahead of time. NOTE: Race announcers will not be available to page people or make personal announcements over our speaker system.
Free return bus service will be provided for runners and spectators from Bayfront Festival Park continuously between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on race day. For specific return bus dropoff locations, please visit our Transportation page.
A spectator bus will depart to the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC) every 30 minutes between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on race day. The bus will depart from Kirby Drive on the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) campus. No bikes or large strollers, please.
DULUTH TRANSIT AUTHORITY (DTA)
Participants can ride the Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) for free on race day just by showing their official race bib. NOTE: Be sure to utilize the DTA Trip Planner to plan your weekend activites.
PORT TOWN TROLLEY
Courtesy of the Duluth Transit Authority (DTA), the Port Town Trolley will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to transport participants and spectators between Canal Park (corner of Lake Avenue and Buchanan Street) and Bayfront Fesitval Park.
Skip the traffic when exploring Duluth! To help make our event a more accessible biking destination, we will offer a bike valet on both Friday and Saturday of race weekend.
Just like a coat check, we'll tag your bike and provide you with a claim stub. When you're ready to move on, come get your bike, and off you go!
