Join our team and help improve the lives of those in our community! Our mission is to strengthen our communities by uniting people and resources. We are striving to improve the health, education, and financial stability of EVERY person in EVERY community we serve.
We do this work by providing funding to nearly 70 programs across our communities, as well as running our Volunteer Center, community services program, and 211 information and referral services.

IMPORTANT: To apply to become a charity runner for Grandma’s Marathon weekend, please contact your charity of choice directly to inquire about available entries, fundraising requirements, etc.
FUNDRAISING REQUIREMENTS
Charity runners commit to fundraising a minimum amount prior to race weekend, as outlined below:
- Grandma’s Marathon — $400
- Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon — $400
The fundraising goal must be reached prior to the date agreed upon between the organization and participant. If the minimum fundraising amount is not met, the remaining balance will be charged to the participant or the entry may be inactivated.

In addition to an entry to the Grandma’s Marathon weekend race of their choice, all charity runners will also receive:
- United Way shirt and water bottle
- Shoutout on United Way social media pages
- Fundraising resources and support
