American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. The AFSP Minnesota Chapter serves all of Minnesota, bringing together people from all backgrounds who want to prevent suicide in their communities. We are excited to welcome our 2024 Team AFSP runners to the 48th Annual Grandma’s Marathon to raise funds for prevention programs, scientific research, public education, advocacy, and support for survivors of suicide loss.

FUNDRAISING REQUIREMENTS
American Foundation for Suicide Prevention runners commit to fundraising a minimum amount prior to race weekend, as outlined below:

  • Grandma’s Marathon — $750
  • Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon — $750
  • William A Irvin 5K- $350
 
 

The fundraising goal must be reached before the runner may register for the race. If the minimum fundraising amount is not met, the remaining balance will be charged to the runner.

In addition to a 2024 entry to the Grandma’s Marathon weekend race of their choice, all American Foundation for Suicide Prevention runners will also receive:

  • Custom AFSP race jersey
  • On-line fundraising page through Donor Drive with credit card support
  • Fundraising tips and training suggestions
  • Team AFSP Dinner the Friday night before the race
