Save the Boundary Waters
Save the Boundary Waters unites people to advocate for the protection of wilderness and wild places, especially the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and the greater Quetico-Superior Ecosystem. We are focused on protecting and preserving the Boundary Waters and the greater Quetico-Superior region. Our unique, multi-pronged approach includes advocacy, partnerships, grassroots mobilization, science and policy, and more.

FUNDRAISING REQUIREMENTS
Save the Boundary Waters runners commit to fundraising a minimum amount prior to race weekend, as outlined below:
- Grandma’s Marathon — $500
- Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon — $500
- William A. Irvin 5K — $250
The fundraising goal must be reached before the runner may register for the race. If the minimum fundraising amount is not met, the remaining balance will be charged to the runner.
PERKS
In addition to a 2024 entry to the Grandma’s Marathon weekend race of their choice, all Save the Boundary Waters Charity runners will also receive:
- Save the Boundary Waters Athletic t-shirt
- 2 Bleacher passes for the finish line bleachers
- Fundraising resources
