RUFF START RESCUE
Ruff Start Rescue is a foster-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit companion animal rescue dedicated to saving the lives of animals in need. The rescue is based out of Princeton, MN but we serve all people & pets of Minnesota, as well as other parts of the United States.
Ruff Start Rescue has saved more than 27,000 animals since its founding in 2010. Our goal is to ensure the safety, comfort, and accessibility to our community to help. Whether dogs, cats, ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, we are determined to help as many animals that need us. Every single day, our tireless efforts are propelled by volunteers, fosters, and supporters who unite as a force of unwavering love, saving thousands of lives.

IMPORTANT: To apply to become a charity runner for Grandma’s Marathon weekend, please contact your charity of choice directly to inquire about available entries, fundraising requirements, etc.
FUNDRAISING REQUIREMENTS
Charity runners commit to fundraising a minimum amount prior to race weekend, as outlined below:
- Grandma’s Marathon — $500
- Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon — $500
The fundraising goal must be reached prior to the date agreed upon between the organization and participant. If the minimum fundraising amount is not met, the remaining balance will be charged to the participant or the entry may be inactivated.

In addition to an entry to the Grandma’s Marathon weekend race of their choice, all charity runners will also receive:
- Friday night meetup space in Duluth
- Fundraising resources and support
